Universal Studios Consumer Products Group has appointed IToys the master toy licensee for the upcoming animated film, The Tale of Despereaux, based on the children’s book by Kate DiCamillo.
The firm is to produce a wide range of products including collectible and traditional plush in various sizes, handheld, single and multi-player electronic games as well as room decor items.
George Irwin, IToys chairman and CEO said: “We're thrilled to be part of what is sure to become a movie event.
The brilliant animation and storytelling provide the perfect inspiration for our toy collection that will enable each child to recreate the adventure and the 'happily ever after' ending each time they play. We're pleased to be working with Universal Pictures on this beautiful and charming property.”
The film is due for release in December.
